FATHER’S DAY MENU – BRUNCH IDEAS
What better way to begin Father’s Day than with a hearty brunch! The dad in your life will be sure to love any of these simple but super tasty recipes:
FRY UP HASH
Dad will love this twist on the classic Full English breakfast. This gorgeous, easy-to-make hash takes all the best parts of a fry up, chops them up, cooks them in a frying pan with potatoes and tops with a fried egg. Make the hash your own – if Dad’s not a fan of mushrooms, omit them and add tomatoes or baked beans instead. If your Dad’s vegetarian or vegan, omit the eggs and meat products, and use veggie sausages and vegan cheese instead!
AMERICAN-STYLE BLUEBERRY PANCAKES
If your Dad is more suited to something a bit less meaty, these light, airy blueberry pancakes are the perfect addition to any Father’s Day menu. Once ready, serve with more blueberries, banana slices, lemon juice, syrup or crème fraiche! FATHER’S DAY MENU – BBQ MAINS IDEAS
Nothing says “Dad” like a group of men gathered around a BBQ, so weather-permitting, celebrate the man in your life with a big bumper Father’s Day BBQ. These BBQ favourites will be sure to impress Dad and all the family.
CARAMELIZED ONION AND BOURSIN CHEESEBURGER
We all love a good cheeseburger, but to mark this special occasion why not upgrade it with an indulgent, creamy Boursin cheeseburger instead. Just cook the burger patty to your preference, place in a bun (we swapped the ciabatta for brioche), heap on a generous dollop of Boursin and top with sweet caramelized onions. We added a slice of tomato and a little bit of sweet chilli sauce for an extra twist. Your Dad is sure to love it!
SAUSAGES AND BEER-BRAISED ONIONS
Your partner or Dad will love these hearty sausages with beer-braised onions. Serve in some brioche hot dog buns with a cold cola (or something stronger!) to wash it down.
HONEY BBQ CHICKEN
Dad will love this succulent chicken glazed in a sweet honey sauce is a firm BBQ favourite. It can be served in a variety of ways – pop it in a warm, lightly toasted pitta bread, or serve with a light cucumber and tomato salad drizzled with Balsamic vinegar.
FATHER’S DAY MENU – BBQ SIDES
BBQ sides are as important as important as the main events! We think these sides will be a hit with Dad this Father’s Day:
- Halloumi – Brits consume the most amount of this tasty cheese outside of Cyprus. It’s perfect grilled on a BBQ. Serve on top of a tomato salad or it an be eaten alone!
- Chips – A BBQ staple, your Dad will be sure to love some paprika-sprinkled skin-on chips – we make ours in a Halowave because they require less fats and still taste great.
- Mac & Cheese – You are sure to impress with mac and cheese, something everyone loves! Change it up by adding truffle or bacon to the topping.
- Buttered corn – You cannot go wrong with a gently buttered corn on the con for your Father’s Day Menu.
- Watermelon, feta and cucumber salad – this salad is as refreshing as it is yummy. Dad can enjoy it on it’s own or to accompany some of the other meaty recipes
